Therapeutic exercise

Therapeutic exercise is defined as a specific and very concrete program aimed at correcting different neuromusculoskeletal disorders or alterations. It is based on prescribed and individualized exercises whose objective is to recover the patient's physical and functional qualities. In this way, the exercises can be divided into analytical or general.

Some of the objectives of any program are the following:

• Improve the disability and potential functional limitations of patients.

• Prevention of neuromusculoskeletal injuries.

• Improve postural control.

The benefits provided by therapeutic exercise:

• Helps in reducing pain, as well as improving joint mobility and muscle functionality.

• In many pathologies, it avoids surgery, such as in the case of degenerative tendinopathy of the rotator cuff, or even in diseases like osteoarthritis that are not very advanced.

• Speeds up recovery after an injury.
